Fall Freeze-up Bird Walk

The Fall Freeze-Up Bird Walk.
Saturday, October 12

Westchester Lagoon, Kayak/Canoe Launch/Viewing Deck, 9:00 am

Come watch waterfowl and other birds at hotspots around town before the lakes freeze. Andrew Fisher will lead this outing to a number of good waterbird locations around town including Westchester Lagoon and Lake Hood/Spenard. Enjoy searching for the less usual waterbird species during this exciting time of year or just enjoy the typical species that are still with us. Bring binoculars and a scope if you have one and dress for the weather. We will bird rain, snow, or shine.

We will meet at Westchester Lagoon at the Kayak/Canoe Launch by the new Viewing Deck at 9 am. The field trip typically concludes around 12-12:30pm, but bring snacks and/or a lunch if you want to keep birding with others afterwards. Blueberry scones will be provided!
